Ho'da'ot are our weekly announcements, sent out via email, to all who are interested in joining or learning about upcoming events.
We include a parshat ha’shavua commentary on the Torah portion of the week, written by one of the rabbis, cantors, or educators of the UPJ (Union of Progressive Judaism in Australia, Asia, and New Zealand), along with flyers and information about upcoming events at Etz Chayim and other relevant initiatives and activities. Ha’Kol, meaning “The Voice”, is our quarterly newsletter including articles from our rabbi and president, opinion pieces, information, recipes and children’s activities for upcoming chaggim, calendar of events, reviews of past events and advertising for upcoming events, lists of birthdays, anniversaries, and yartzeits, and well as acknowledgement of those financial contributions which are the foundations that allow us to thrive as we do, honouring those members who have died, welcoming new members, and featuring different members each month to foster a greater sense of familiarity with those in our community.
