Welcome Beit Sefer Chayim
Beit Sefer Chayim

B'nei Mitzvah Program

Our B'nei Mitzvah program is both broad and comprehensive. Each student will work with the B'nei Mitzvah Coordinator to develop a personal study program. The course has been designed as a two year process that incorporates

  • Collaborative learning
  • Personal study
  • Family exploration
  • Community service

Each session consists of three main learning areas:

  • T'fillah (Prayer): Each session starts with a short service where the students have an opportunity to become familiar and comfortable with the weekly synagogue service
  • Nilmad (Learning): A chance to delve deeper into the learning of the current topic to reinforce skills.
  • Na'aseh (Doing): An activity to enhance that day's learning. These can include arts and craft activities, incursions, excursions, etc.

Our Nilmad v'Naseh program is structured in such a way as to enable us to welcome students at any time. We created a two year rotation that lays the foundation for what we believe are the fundamental elements of Jewish life and learning:

  • History
  • People
  • Life
  • Values

Each student will be given challenging yet achievable goals so that they can reach their full potential. We invite you to be part of this special rite of passage to the next step in each student’s relationship with the Jewish community and with each person’s own spiritual life.
